Thanks and Credits
The Circle of Peace program in Canada started out as the "Out Reach Music Program". It consists of providing six weeks of programming (2x per week) to at-risk inner city youth at different program sites throughout the city. Thanks goes out to David Thiaw for inspiring me to drum. Thanks goes out to Will Schmid who helped bring it all together with his World Music Drumming Curriculum. Thanks goes out to the Saskatoon Foundation for providing the funding to purchase the drums to start the Circle of Peace. Thanks goes out to the United Way of Saskatoon for providing the start up money for the first year of the Circle of Peace. Thanks goes out to Sowah Mensah, Master Drummer, for inspiring me to listen and learn. Thanks goes out to Joseph Ashong, Master Drummer, for inspiring me to listen, learn and have fun. Thanks goes out to Josh Ryan, Afro Cuban drum God, for endless energy and inspiring me to listen, learn, dance and have even more fun. Thanks goes out to Arthur Hull for inspiring me to look at the music within all of us and to try and bring it out. ***A HUGE THANKS GOES OUT TO ALL OF THE CHILDREN, YOUTH, ADULTS AND SENIORS WHO HAVE SHARED THEIR SPIRIT THROUGH DRUMMING IN THE CIRCLE OF PEACE. I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH FROM ALL OF YOU. I look forward to learning more. The Canadian program was founded by Richard Dubé. Website design by Music Education Online.org OUR SPECIAL LINKS... NEXT |
